A Little Party Never Hurt nobody.

Updated: Apr 8, 2019

“And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.” F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

Black and Gold, Glitz and Glam, Never Hurt Nobody

“ A little party never hurt nobody, so we gon’ dance until we drop.... A little party never hurt nobody, right here, right now’s all we got ”

This was the theme of the night. a Gatsby Inspired Night of Glitz and Glam.

Switching from one holiday to the next.

I was able to find some clearance decorations in black and gold with an art-deco style that would work perfect for my Gatsby dreams.. I designed this to be an easy transition so all I had to do was remove the pink and blue ornaments from the tree and add in a few more gold and my party hats and horns and was able to switch from Christmas to New Year in a few hours.

All eyes on the Buffet.

The buffet table was an easy switch, I removed the nativity and added a pyramid of champagne glasses, a ice bucket and a letter board with the nights theme.

The Champagne bottle is actually a big confetti popper I found at Walmart that someone had already popped in the store. Let's say the employee I saw cleaning was not happy about it! Although she was upset she did let me have the bottle. I'm already saving money! I took some sturdy wire and shaped it into a branch and fastened ping-pong balls on the wire. Next, in order to make the balls look like bubbles I painted them silver and gold and loaded them with glitter to give look of champagne shooting out. I added in some gold, silver, and iridescent pipe cleaners.... and POP you have it!

Now above this buffet you will notice my art-deco lady. She is made with a process I have used before, copy, past, enlarge, and glue... Some might remember I used this same process for a cupid tree topper for a St. Valentine's tree in 2017.

A table is for eating not dancing...

I wanted to keep it simple for the table. So just a black table cloth, gold chargers and a party horn for for each place seat. The center piece is a stack of champagne glasses with some iridescent paper shreds.

The total cost for the easy switch over was less than $25.00. You don't have to spend a lot to have a Glam Good Time! Go and Party Flockers!
